Tucked in the outskirts of Mumbai , the vibrant hill station Matheran is famous for its bizarre rainfall and of course the lovely sceneries to feast your eyes on. You can also term this place as the Romantic Hill Station.
Misty Clouds , foggy weather , rolling greenery and wet woods of the trees just takes your breath away.

What i love the best about this place is Rains. It rains for almost whole Monsoons. For the people like me , this place is best to experience the tranquility of rain water.
(Barso re megha, Barso re Megha..Barsooo - A rain Dance from Bollywood Movie by one of the beautiful Actress Aishwarya Rai)
The ideal time to visit this place would be during the Monsoons(June-September). As per localites, the weather opens up and rain fall is stopped after the festival of Navratri.
Its not just about the scenic beauty but the Pollution free environment is what makes my time more refreshing in Matheran. As no vehicles are allowed, the only mode of transport inside the city are Horses and pulled rickshaw.
You will discover amazing pictures to carry back home from here but the biggest challenge here is you cannot take your Camera out due to continuous rains.
Mind-blowing, isn’t it?
It is correctly said - Nature is the beauty which ultimately wins.
An important Suggestion before travelling to this place would be do not prefer to travel here in your expensive or light colored shoes because whatever the color be it will turn to Red while returning. And it was next to impossible to get my shoes off of that Red color after so many washes. Now those are of no use to me. As you have to walk too much here so prefer a footwear which would be comfortable to walk in extreme rains and rocky Paths.
This place is really convenient to travel with the feasible transport options from Pune as well as Mumbai and can be covered over Weekends. Also the Food in the Restaurants is amazing. You can Plan your trip by reading the plan and reviews on TripAdvisor.
Beautiful places make up the beautiful Stories...For me its listed as a must visit place in the Monsoons.
Happy travelling..!
