Below is the quote I had liked the most. The One which I came across in the book Looking for Alaska by John Green:

“You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.”

Such a meaningful line -“You just use the future to escape the present.”

Well I believe ability of not focusing in the present moment after Planning for your goals deals with - Default Mode of Brain Networking.


Thoughts in this Mode have nothing to deal with the Present moment. Those thoughts belong either to Past or to Future. We become so engrossed in dreaming about our future and attach so many emotions to it that we loose the touch with reality.


Many a times this thoughts stay in our mind for years and disturb us. That means, in this mode neither you can remain conscious nor you can concentrate.


There are ways to hack your Brains Default Mode.

"By practicing Awareness and concentration."


This Practices will help you to live in the Present Moment and enjoy the Journey rather than dreaming about a future.

How to live in the Moment while planning for Future ?


1. Proper Planning - Find clarity of your goal and its Purpose.

2. Divide the path into smaller tasks to be achieved.

3. To improve your Performance stop rolling in Past and Future.

4. Be the silent Watcher of your Thoughts.

5. Once you notice that you are in thoughts then - Breathe …Observe your Breathe.

6. Then bring your mind back to present Moment.


Slow down and enjoy your present moment to the fullest..!..
